About Maryssa Simpson
Trial lawyer and partner at The Simpson Tuegel Law Firm, PLLC. Maryssa grew up in the small town of Bridgeport, Texas and is from a family of trial lawyers. Her background gave her a passion for trial work, and she carries that forward in her practice. Maryssa’s favorite part of being a lawyer is the “counselor” aspect. She works hard to serve her clients by gaining their trust, and then maintaining those professional relationships with integrity, honesty, and compassion. Maryssa is results-oriented, but concentrates her practice on creating strong relationships with her clients. Maryssa handles all facets of sexual assault and sexual abuse litigation. She strongly believes that every client deserves their day in Court, and that survivors of sexual abuse and violence should be afforded every opportunity for justice that the law can provide. Maryssa graduated from Baylor University and received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to joining The Simpson Tuegel Law Firm, Maryssa worked at a prominent Texas defense firm and represented clients in insurance litigation. Maryssa’s experience on the defense side gave her a comprehensive understanding of the various issues in litigation, particularly insurance. Her knowledge of the defense perspective helps her better serve the needs of her clients. Maryssa has represented clients in complex business litigation, with significant expertise in the banking and credit card processing industries, and has also achieved significant successes for Receivers and Trustees in ancillary cases to receiverships and bankruptcies. Maryssa also has experience in commercial litigation, transportation litigation, and catastrophic personal injury matters. During law school, Maryssa served as a legal intern for the Honorable Martin Hoffman, 68th District Court, Dallas County, Texas, and as a legal intern for Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. Maryssa represents her clients before state and federal courts throughout the United States.
