About John Neese
John Neese is a seasoned civil trial lawyer with more than 28 years of experience successfully trying a wide range of cases involving business and commercial litigation, personal injury, real estate, and other complex civil matters in state and federal courts throughout the United States. A native Houstonian, John graduated from Episcopal High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics, with honors, from the University of Houston. Before entering law school, he gained valuable real-world experience as a small business owner—insight that continues to inform his practical approach to litigation. John earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, where he was recognized for academic excellence. He served as Chief Notes & Comments Editor of the Houston Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barons. He graduated third in his class of 357 students, summa cum laude. John began his legal career at Vinson & Elkins LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms, where he tried cases involving commercial, construction, personal injury, and real estate disputes. After four years, he left the firm to represent businesses and individuals on a contingency-fee basis—an option often unavailable at large firms. Throughout his career, John has tried cases for and against a broad range of defendants, including major corporations, energy and oil-and-gas companies, real estate developers, construction firms, accounting and engineering firms, pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare systems, insurance companies, maritime entities, and transportation and trucking companies, among others. John is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and holds Avvo’s highest attorney rating of 10.0. He was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2007 and 2008 and has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer every year since 2011.
