About Alexis Knapp
Practicing at Littler has given me the unique opportunity to combine my background in HR and teaching and training to helping employers with their labor and employment law needs. I currently represent employers in all areas of labor and employment law, appearing in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Texas Workforce Commission, handling disputes against both private plaintiffs (employees/former employees) and the government. In addition to litigation, I also counsel clients on various employment law matters, including complex leave issues, employee disability issues, handbook and policy review and drafting, reductions in force, employee terminations, release agreements, wage and hour issues, discrimination, harassment and retaliation issues, and a variety of other areas of legal compliance. As a result of both of these practice areas, I also develop and deliver training on these and other employment law issues for a variety of audiences. Prior to joining Littler, I had the opporutnity to serve as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business and Economics at Houston Baptist University, teaching courses in human resources and employment law at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Prior to working at HBU, I worked in human resources in the public sector, focusing on employee benefits, organizational policies and procedures and training. In addition to my JD, I also have a Masters of Science in Human Resources, I am SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified, and am Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
